This unique race invites runners to explore Lake Eola Park's stunning landscapes while deciding their path with every turn. The morning starts early under a cool yet invigorating sky, with temperatures around 7.1°C (12.8°F), perfect for layering up as you embark on this costume-filled adventure.
The course weaves through picturesque trails and roads surrounding the park, offering runners a diverse terrain of paved paths and gravel surfaces amidst lush greenery. Along your journey, you'll pass charming landmarks such as the fountain and Day Island, creating memorable moments at every step.
For 5K participants, the race is divided into two distinct directions: clockwise or counter-clockwise. Runners start together but quickly diverge at a crucial point – the end of the gravel straight. Here, you can choose to veer left onto the loop around Day Island Road for a different perspective on the park's beauty, or continue straight for an alternative route.
The 10K course takes this concept further by looping through the 5K twice but in opposite directions each time. This means runners get to experience both clockwise and counter-clockwise paths during their run, adding an element of strategic fun as you decide which direction to take first.
Race day begins at 17:00 with registration fees set at $34.09 per participant. Pick up your bib number from 7:30 am to 8:30 am at Lake Eola Park, where proper identification and costumes are required. The starting line is just in front of the park's iconic fountain, welcoming runners aged 16 and above.
