Tricky Treater

Tricky Treater 5K and 10K returns to Eugene, Oregon on October 25th, 2026—celebrate the season by running in costume while deciding your direction at every turn! The race starts early with a brisk morning temperature of around 7.1°C (12.8°F), making it perfect for layering up.
The event takes place along the scenic trails and roads surrounding Lake Eola Park, offering runners a mix of paved paths and gravel surfaces through greenery and past picturesque landmarks like the park's fountain and Day Island. The 5K race is split into two directions: clockwise or counter-clockwise. Runners start together then veer left at the end of the gravel straight or continue straight on Day Island Road, creating a unique running experience as participants see each other in both directions.
The 10K takes this concept to the next level by looping through the 5K course twice but going opposite ways for each lap. Participants can strategically choose which direction they want to take first, adding an element of fun and excitement that makes every race memorable.
