Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Sherwood Pines for the Festive Duathlons hosted by Wild Deer Events. This picturesque location near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire offers an ideal setting just 20 minutes from both the A1 and M1 motorways. Sherwood Pines is a sprawling forested area covering over 3,300 acres of woodland, rich in Robin Hood lore and dotted with towering pine trees. The venue boasts diverse trails for running and mountain biking, alongside play areas and bike rental options that cater to all ages and abilities. The Festive Duathlons offer two distance choices: the Sprint (5km run, 15km cycle, and a final 2.5km run) and the Standard (10km run, 30km cycle, followed by another 5km run). Both courses wind through the scenic forest paths with an off-road bike course that accommodates any type of mountain or hybrid bicycle. Participants will enjoy a secure transition area where they can rack their bikes and store small items. Race numbers and bike numbers match designated spots for easy identification. The event also includes live chip timing by Timing Up North to ensure accurate results. The festive atmosphere is enhanced with post-race treats such as mince pies, chocolates, drinks, and an exclusive event t-shirt available at a discounted price of £14 when you register in advance. Parking on site can be arranged through Forestry England's pay machines after the race for those traveling by car.
