Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Sherwood Pines this December as Wild Deer Events brings festive trail runs to one of Nottinghamshire's most captivating woodlands. Situated just 20 minutes from both the A1 and M1, Sherwood Pines offers a magical setting for runners of all ages.
Nestled within 3,300 acres of sprawling woodland, Sherwood Pines is steeped in Robin Hood lore and boasts towering pine trees that provide an idyllic backdrop to your run. The park's diverse landscape includes activity trails, play areas, bike hire stations, and extensive running paths, making it a perfect venue for the festive season.
The event features three main distances: a Family 1 Mile Run, a 5km Trail Run, and a challenging 10km Trail Run. Each route offers unique terrain, from gentle woodland pathways to more rugged trails that wind through pine groves and open meadows. The shorter events are ideal for young runners aged 3-14 years old, with accompanying adults running free in the Family Mile event.
For those who want a bit of canine company on their run, canicross is welcome at both the 5km and 10km distances. Start times vary to accommodate different age groups and activities, ensuring everyone has an enjoyable experience from morning till noon.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants will be greeted with warm mince pies, chocolates, drinks, and event medals for all runners completing the longer courses. The Family Mile also offers a special selection box as part of its prize package. For those looking to commemorate their run, exclusive T-shirts can be added during registration at an additional cost.
