St Ives Bay 10k

St Ives Bay 10k invites runners to explore the rugged beauty of Hayle's coastline with an off-road adventure that combines beach runs and dune climbs. The course begins at Hayle Surf Lifesaving Club, located on Riviere Towans in Phillack, Cornwall.
Runners will start their journey by hitting the soft sand of the beach before heading towards a historic lighthouse along the way. A new addition for 2026 is an ascent onto the dunes via a route that avoids the steep Gwithian steps, offering runners a unique challenge as they navigate this natural terrain.
The second half of the race includes two miles on Towans paths, culminating in the exhilarating "Dune of Doom," where participants will face a particularly challenging stretch. After conquering these dunes, racers return to the beach for their final push over 1.2 miles back to the finish line at Hayle Surf Lifesaving Club.
Participants can also look forward to a fun-filled evening with a separate one-mile beach run starting at 6 pm specifically designed for runners under sixteen years of age and priced at just £5 per entry.
The event is organized by Hayle Runners, who have been dedicated supporters of the local Hayle Food Bank since 2022. To further support this cause, donations are welcome from all competitors to help aid families in need within the community.
Registration for the St Ives Bay 10k opens at 5 pm on race day and concludes with a start time of 7 pm sharp. The event is licensed under UKA rules through the Trail Running Association (licence number 8112) and features chip timing, making it part two of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Series.
In addition to the competitive spirit, prizes are awarded for first three male and female finishers as well as age category winners and team achievements. However, entries or swaps will not be accepted on race day; all changes must be made before entry deadlines close.
