Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of the Solway Coast with our self-supported gravel ride, featuring three distinct routes: 100km, 70km, and 50km. All participants enjoy access to all route options, allowing for flexibility during your adventure. The charming village of Kirkgunzeon (pronounced kir-gun-yun), affectionately nicknamed "THE BIG ONION," serves as the starting point for this unique gravel biking event. The ride promises a day filled with stunning coastal scenery and memorable moments along picturesque trails. Whether you're an experienced rider or just beginning your gravel adventure, each route offers challenging terrain mixed with delightful views of the Solway Coast. Enjoy the freedom to switch between routes at several points during the ride, making it possible for riders of all skill levels to find their perfect distance. As a self-supported and self-navigated event, participants should come prepared with everything needed for an independent journey: bring your own map or GPS device using the provided GPX file, and ensure you have a helmet and tools for any on-the-go repairs. Remember, this is not a race; take it at your own pace while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow riders. Upon returning to Kirkgunzeon Hall, relax with complimentary home baking, snacks, fruits, hot and cold drinks. Weather permitting, there will also be a barbecue and bar available for additional refreshments (cash only). This is an excellent opportunity to connect with other cyclists over stories from the day's ride or simply unwind after your adventure. Due to safety regulations, riders under 18 must participate alongside a responsible adult guardian at all times. Tickets are priced at £16.50 per person, and proceeds will be donated towards maintaining Maxwell Memorial Hall in Kirkgunzeon. Join us for an unforgettable day of cycling along the stunning Solway Coast!
