Celebrate St David's Day with the Dragon Run in Dare Valley Country Park, Wales! This annual event honors Saint David, the patron saint of Wales, on March 1st. Participants can enjoy scenic trails and beautiful countryside views while commemorating Welsh heritage. Join us for a flexible Time Challenge event that lasts up to seven hours. Choose your distance from as little as 3 kilometers or aim higher with multiple laps around the park's well-maintained paths. A full lap covers approximately 4.37 miles, but conditions may adjust this slightly to about 3.28 miles. Members of Saturn Too Limited receive a £10 discount and guaranteed entry alongside exclusive mini-medal pins for every event attended. UK Athletics affiliated club members also benefit from a £2 reduction on their entries. Upon crossing the finish line at any distance, runners will be awarded an impressive medal. For those who achieve half-marathon or greater distances, additional recognition comes in the form of commemorative pins: Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra. All participants can look forward to a goody bag filled with treats post-race, including vegan options for those following plant-based diets. A well-stocked aid station at the start/finish line ensures runners have access to refreshments throughout their run. The venue offers basic facilities such as toilets but no changing rooms or showers; however, there is an on-site cafe nearby that serves hot drinks and meals. Free parking is available for all attendees. Race day instructions will be emailed a week before the event, including details about number pick-up at race registration. Secure bag storage isn't provided near the start/finish area, so please don’t leave valuable items unattended during your run. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted to ensure safety and respect for other path users while enjoying this scenic trail in Dare Valley Country Park. For any further inquiries or special event recognition requests, contact us at run@saturntoo.co.uk. This unique running experience combines the beauty of Welsh landscapes with the camaraderie of runners celebrating a national holiday. Don't miss out on an unforgettable journey through stunning scenery and challenging terrain in one of Wales' most picturesque locations!
