Welcome to the Sternsteintrail, an exhilarating journey through the scenic landscapes of Austria's Mühlviertel region. This trail race offers runners and hikers two distinct routes: a full marathon distance of 42.2 kilometers starting from Linz or a half-marathon option covering 18.2 kilometers that begins in Zwettl am Rodleithner. Both courses wind through dense forests, across rolling meadows, up steep hillsides, and down rocky paths before reaching the summit of Sternstein at an elevation of 1,122 meters.
The event is designed for all levels of fitness enthusiasts—whether you're a walker, Nordic walker, or runner—and welcomes participants to enjoy the experience without pressure. The course offers breathtaking views and challenging terrain that cater to those looking for both adventure and relaxation in equal measure. Along the way, runners will encounter diverse landscapes ranging from lush green forests to open fields dotted with wildflowers.
