Stow Maries Trail Challenge 2026

The Stow Maries Trail Challenge invites trail runners to immerse themselves in an off-road adventure that spans six hours. Set against the backdrop of picturesque fields and vineyards, this looped course offers stunning views across the River Crouch while providing a challenging yet enjoyable experience for all skill levels.
Each lap covers just over 5 kilometers (3.3 miles), with runners setting their own pace and goals as they navigate through scenic footpaths that wind around lush landscapes. The route is clearly marked, ensuring participants can focus on their run without worrying about getting lost. Completing even a single loop earns you an impressive medal, making this event suitable for those aiming to tackle a 5K or aspire to more ambitious distances like the marathon.
The race begins and concludes near the carpark adjacent to the aerodrome entrance, with one well-stocked checkpoint available every 5 kilometers along the route. This ensures that runners can stay hydrated and fueled throughout their journey. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will be rewarded with a medal and additional treats in recognition of their efforts.
Priced at £34 for affiliated athletes (England Athletics) or £36 otherwise, this event is organized under permit from The Trail Running Association. To ensure a safe and enjoyable race environment, participants are reminded not to use personal audio devices during the run and must inform organizers if they plan on withdrawing mid-race. For those who need to cancel their entry before June 6th, 2026, a 50% refund will be provided; however, no refunds or deferrals will be offered after this date.
