Summer Open Water Swims at Dock 9, Salford Quays, M50 3AZ invites swimmers of all levels to enjoy the refreshing waters along the Manchester Ship Canal. Whether you're an experienced open water swimmer or a beginner looking for some fun in the sun, this event offers something unique. Located in the heart of Salford's vibrant waterfront area, Dock 9 provides a picturesque backdrop with its modern architecture and bustling atmosphere. Swimmers can look forward to clear waters that are monitored regularly by lifeguards and safety teams, ensuring everyone’s well-being is prioritized throughout each session. Pre-book your spot at discounted rates for Bronze and Squid members or adult and junior non-members who wish to secure their place early on the calendar. Walk-ins are welcome too but will have to pay an "On The Day" rate. Remember to bring a tow-float, which can be hired from the venue if you don't already own one. Swim sessions take place every Saturday morning between May and August from 8am to 11am, with additional Wednesday evening slots from 5pm until 7:30 pm during these months. In September, enjoy a relaxed start on Saturdays from 10am to noon as the summer season winds down. Each session allows for last-minute entries up until 15 minutes before the swim concludes, giving you plenty of time to join in and soak up the atmosphere around Dock 9.
