About the Event

The Sunshine Coast Marathon & Community Run Festival, nestled along Queensland's picturesque coastline just an hour north of Brisbane, is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of community and sport. Since its launch, the festival has become synonymous with raising over $1.6 million for local charities and community groups.
Participants can look forward to running in ideal winter conditions that feature blue skies, low humidity, and mild temperatures—perfect for setting personal bests on this flat course. The event offers a variety of distances including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km, 5km, and a family-friendly 2km race.
The scenic route hugs the coastline of Alexandra Headland, where runners are treated to stunning views of white sandy beaches and breathtaking ocean vistas. Spectators line the course, cheering on participants at every turn. The Half Marathon is run as one continuous loop, while marathoners enjoy multiple loops that maximize their exposure to the vibrant atmosphere.
