Welcome to the Tarland Trails Center for Round #2 of the Tartan Enduro Series 2026! This scenic venue, nestled in Aberdeenshire and opened since spring 2023, offers an unparalleled mountain biking experience. The center's purpose-built trails are designed to cater to both novice riders looking to dip their toes into the sport and seasoned racers seeking a challenge. The Tarland Trails boast sweeping turns, large berms, jumps, and technical riding elements that will have you cheering as you descend through these meticulously crafted routes. Each trail presents unique challenges and thrills, making every ride an adventure in itself. In this round of the Tartan Enduro Series, riders can participate in a "mash up" format where they choose their own order to tackle the trails while adhering to a set finish time. The distance for completing all stages is approximately 25 kilometers with around 800 meters of climbing elevation. However, you have the flexibility to ride each trail multiple times within your allotted timeframe. For those new to enduro racing or unfamiliar with Tarland Trails, numerous local coaching and guiding services are available to help familiarize you with the area before race day. These companies can provide essential riding tips and guidance tailored specifically for this challenging course. The event promises a friendly atmosphere that caters to all levels of riders—from highly competitive athletes pushing their limits to those simply enjoying a fantastic day in the hills surrounded by like-minded enthusiasts. Categories include conventional mountain bikes, e-bikes, hardtails, as well as youth categories (9-12 years old) accompanied by an adult chaperone. Prizes are generously provided by Scottish businesses that cater to various aspects of cycling needs such as sales and services, clothing, coaching, and more. After the race, participants can mingle with friends in the event village where hot food and drinks will be available for purchase. Registration opens two hours before each mass start: 10:15 AM for eBikes only, followed by full routes at 10:20 AM, and Lite/Youth categories starting at 10:30 AM. Participants must collect their race numbers and timing chips from Race HQ upon arrival. The event supports local trail development through donations made per participant to the Tarland Trails (part of the Tarland Development Group SC041598) and offers an optional donation for the Aboyne Bike Park, a valuable community asset maintained by the Aboyne Community Trust. By entering this race, you agree to being photographed or filmed during your participation, with permission granted for any use in various media platforms. Please note that entry categories are determined based on age as of January 1st, 2026, and participants must be at least nine years old by the event date. The overall capacity limit is set at 400 riders; given last year's success, it’s advisable to register early to secure your spot. For cancellations before entries close, a £10 administration fee will apply alongside your refund request submission via email. Refunds are not typically issued after online entry deadlines except under exceptional circumstances as determined by the organizers. Join us for an unforgettable day of racing and camaraderie at Tarland Trails!
