Templeton 10 Mile Road Race

About the Event

The Templeton 10K welcomes runners to an invigorating course that winds through Clatto Reservoir and the surrounding nature trails. Registration opens at 9 am on the day of the race, with numbers available for those who haven't yet secured a spot. The event takes place at the Clatto Centre, where participants should arrive early to allow time for parking and registration before heading to the start line on Templeton Road, about one mile away.
Participants are advised to come dressed and ready to run as there will be no changing facilities or showers available. A designated area is provided for leaving personal belongings such as extra clothing that can be dropped off at the start and retrieved post-race.
Parking options include limited spots near the Clatto Centre, additional spaces on Templeton Road close to the race start, and further parking areas around 1-1.5 miles away at Camperdown Park or by the nature hut in Templeton Woods. Please follow guidance from stewards and considerate use of local resources.
The course itself is accurately measured with mile markers guiding runners along a primarily clockwise loop before returning through wooded trails to finish near the registration area. Two water stations will be available, one around 3 miles into the race and another at approximately 7 miles. Additional hydration can also be found at the finish line.
For timing purposes, there's no chip system in place; your official time is recorded from gun start until crossing the finish line. In adherence to UKA rule 240 S5, runners are asked not to use earbuds unless medically necessary but bone-conducting headphones are allowed for better awareness of surroundings.
First aid support will be present throughout the race and at the end near the registration center where you'll find a small finish field. All participants must complete within two hours and 20 minutes, with awards presented shortly after completion around noon to those who excel in overall standings as well as age categories and team competitions.
Refreshments including hot and cold beverages will be provided post-race at Clatto Centre—remember to bring your own cup or mug for the event. Results are typically published within a day on Webscorer, our website, and Scottish Athletics site shortly after.
Cash prizes await top finishers with overall awards of £60 (£50, £40) in both male and female divisions, plus additional accolades for specific age groups (40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+) and a designated runner-up prize. Team prizes are also up for grabs with the top three teams receiving beer/wine/chocolates.
All finishers receive goody bags containing unique mementos from the Templeton event. Entries can be transferred or deferred until November 1st; refunds will only apply if cancellation occurs, minus Entry Central charges.
Enjoy your run and embrace the scenic beauty of this challenging yet rewarding race!
