The Buckie 10k, scheduled for September 6th, 2026 at 10:30am, invites runners to experience an exciting blend of history and scenic beauty along the Moray coastline. This Scottish Athletics-approved event offers a unique course that combines road running through the charming town center with sections on a fast-paced cycle path. Registration for the race takes place from 8am to 10am at The Fisherman's Hall in Buckie, AB56 1HT, where participants can collect their bibs and familiarize themselves with the route. Given that this is a small coastal town, car sharing is highly recommended as parking space may be limited. The race begins outside The Fisherman’s Hall and leads runners through the heart of Buckie before heading out towards Findochty. A significant portion of the course follows the Moray Coastal cycle path, offering scenic views and an enjoyable run back to the finish line at The Fishermen's Hall. Runners can expect a well-organized event with essential amenities such as water stations strategically placed along the route, including one at the 5k mark, and lively music to keep spirits high. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive a custom-made medal celebrating their achievement. The Buckie 10k adheres strictly to Scottish Athletics guidelines, ensuring that all runners are over 16 years old on race day and that no support is provided after the one hour and forty-five-minute cut-off time. Headphones must be bone conducting for safety reasons. Awards will be given based on gun time rather than chip time, so positioning at the start line is crucial for those aiming to secure a top spot in their category. Medals are awarded to all finishers, while additional accolades go to the first three male and female runners as well as winners of each age group. The Fisherman’s Hall also serves as a hub with changing facilities and toilets available at both start and finish lines. Runners can leave personal items here for safekeeping during their race. Post-race refreshments will be provided, complemented by the nearby coffee vendor and local cafes offering further sustenance options. For detailed route maps and additional information, visit Moray-Marathon.co.uk or follow updates on the event’s Facebook page. The Buckie 10k promises a memorable experience for runners of all levels looking to embrace Scottish coastal charm while challenging themselves in an engaging race environment.
