Welcome to the Cambus Quarter Marathon, an exhilarating race that invites runners to explore the scenic landscapes of Cambus village. Spanning 6.5 miles or 10.5 kilometers, this quarter marathon features a flat and mixed-terrain course that weaves through trails, tarmac paths, and roads. The route is generally fast underfoot but trail shoes might be more suitable on particularly wet days. The race begins in Cambus village with an anti-clockwise loop along the River Forth’s banks, offering picturesque views of rolling farmland as you follow scenic trail paths back towards the start area via tarmac path. A water station will provide refreshment at this point before runners embark on a clockwise loop through Blackgrange and past Diageo. The course then takes you around Cambus Pools Nature Reserve, over the railway level crossing, and along the old A907 to finish back in Cambus village via the Cycle Path. This event is not closed to traffic; thus, runners must exercise caution at all times. Marshals will be stationed at major road crossings and the railway level crossing to ensure safety. All participants are required to follow marshal instructions strictly, as failure to do so may result in disqualification. Runners should also be mindful of other road users and remain courteous when passing members of the public. The Cambus Quarter Marathon is sanctioned by UK Athletics Rules and scottishathletics Licence. No dogs are permitted under any circumstances. Entry closes on August 13, 2026, with a limit of 200 runners. Participants must be at least 16 years old and medically fit to run. Registration opens from 8:45 am until 9:30 am for those wishing to enter on race day; the fee is £26 or discounted to £23 for Scottish Athletics affiliates with proof of current membership. Ample parking is available at Cambus Bowling Club, provided by Diageo and managed under their reverse parking protocol. First aid facilities will be in place should any runner require assistance during the event. The race starts promptly around 10:15 am from Cambus village after a brief race briefing scheduled for approximately 10:00 am (times are subject to change). Prizes will be awarded to male and female runners finishing first, second, and third in their respective categories. All participants receive a commemorative souvenir at the finish line. Refreshments and water stations along the course provide hydration support throughout your journey, while post-race refreshments await you back at Cambus Bowling Club. For more information about race day logistics or to register ahead of time, visit Wee County Harriers online or contact the event organizers directly. The Wee County Harriers thank their sponsors—Diageo, Cambus Bowling Club, Clackmannanshire Council, and Drew & Rosie McLaren—for making this event possible.
