The Charnwood Challenge 2026

About the Event

Experience the rugged beauty of Charnwood countryside with the Charnwood Challenge, an off-road adventure designed for both runners and walkers. The main 10-mile course winds through scenic landscapes, offering participants a challenging yet rewarding journey across varied terrain.
For younger competitors between ages 10 and 15, there's also a walking challenge that can be enjoyed in tandem with an adult guardian or parent. This event encourages family participation and provides young athletes the opportunity to explore nature while getting some exercise.
In addition to these longer routes, the Charnwood Challenge includes a fun-filled Junior Challenge for all ages. This 1-mile race is perfect for kids who want to join in on the excitement but prefer a shorter distance. Day-of entry fees are £4 and can be paid at Nanpantan Scout Group HQ, where both the start and finish lines are located.
The event kicks off early with walkers setting out at 9:00 AM followed by runners beginning their journey an hour later at 10:00 AM. The Junior Challenge follows shortly after at 10:15 AM, allowing families to participate in a morning of friendly competition and outdoor fun.
Participants can look forward to a day filled with natural beauty as they navigate the challenging but scenic trails that make up this unique event. Whether you're an experienced runner or simply out for a leisurely walk, there's something here for everyone who enjoys spending time outdoors.
