Every Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 PM and Saturday mornings between 8:30 AM and 10 AM, 3 Sisters Waterski in Wigan invites swimmers of all levels for social lapped swimming sessions. These events are perfect for both seasoned open water enthusiasts and novices looking to dip their toes into the sport.
The venue offers a shallow lake with clear and clean waters where you can stand up in much of it, making it an ideal spot for beginners who might feel more comfortable starting out without deep-water anxiety. Swimmers aged 12 years and older are welcome to join the fun. For those between 12 and 15, a wetsuit and swim float are mandatory for safety reasons when swimming without an adult or buddy present. Swimmers over 16 can opt out of using a swim float if wearing a wetsuit but are strongly advised to use one regardless. If you’re swimming in ‘skins’ (without a wetsuit), all swimmers aged 16 and above must wear a swim float.
All participants, regardless of age or experience level, should don bright-colored swim caps for better visibility on the water. Darker colored caps are discouraged as they blend into the surroundings too easily.
