For those aged between 12 and 15 years old, swimming is permitted with a mandatory requirement to wear both a wetsuit and a swim float for added safety. Older swimmers, from the age of 16 onwards, are advised but not required to use a swim float if they opt to swim in a wetsuit. However, all skin-swimming participants aged 16 or above must utilize a swim float.
To enhance visibility on the water, every participant is mandated to wear a brightly colored swim cap; dark caps are discouraged for safety reasons. The venue offers designated areas where swimmers can safely acclimate themselves to the cold water without wearing wetsuits if they choose to do so.
