Experience the heartwarming spirit of the Niagara Hospice Gran Fondo, set for Saturday, August 1st. This cycling event offers an incredible opportunity to support a vital community service while enjoying scenic routes and a vibrant post-ride celebration.
Registration is now open for three distinct distance options: the challenging 62-mile route, the moderate 33-mile ride, and the family-friendly 15-mile course. Cyclists are encouraged to pick up their rider information packets and dri-fit shirts at Niagara Hospice on Wednesday, July 29th from noon until 7 PM. This pre-event packet pickup is designed to minimize delays on race day, ensuring a smooth start for all participants.
The cause behind the event is deeply meaningful: supporting Niagara Hospice's compassionate care for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Niagara County. As the only hospice provider in the area, Niagara Hospice offers comprehensive support beyond what insurance covers, providing physical, emotional, spiritual, and bereavement services to those who need them most.
By participating in this Gran Fondo, you contribute directly to these essential services, making a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families. Your donation ensures that every day is lived with dignity and comfort when medical treatments are no longer an option.
The event kicks off on Saturday morning at 6:30 AM for the longest route, followed by start times for shorter distances to accommodate all participants' needs. Routes wind through picturesque landscapes of Niagara County, offering cyclists a blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery.
After completing your chosen distance, join fellow riders for an enthusiastic post-ride celebration featuring live music, food trucks, and plenty of opportunities to connect with other supporters and volunteers who share the same passion for making a positive impact in their community.
For those unable to attend packet pickup on Wednesday, materials will be available at Niagara Hospice's garage located at 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094 from early morning until race start times.
