Newfane 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Run

On August 23, 2026, runners of all ages are invited to participate in the fourth annual Newfane 5K. This community-driven race takes place on McKee Street in front of Miller Hose Company and offers a scenic route through charming residential neighborhoods.
The event kicks off early with a non-timed Family Fun Run at 8:30am, providing an opportunity for younger participants to enjoy the festive atmosphere before heading home or cheering on their parents. The main attraction is the timed 5K run that starts promptly at 9am from McKee Street and concludes in the small parking lot adjacent to Miller Hose Company.
Participants who register by August 14th will receive a guaranteed Newfane 5K t-shirt, ensuring they're decked out for race day. Race-day registration is available between 7:30am and 9am at the pavilion behind the fire hall. The entry fee varies based on whether you sign up ahead of time or opt to register on-site.
After crossing the finish line, runners can look forward to a post-race celebration complete with refreshments such as fruit, snacks, and bottled water under the pavilion located behind Miller Hose Company. Music will be playing throughout the event, adding an extra layer of excitement for participants and spectators alike.
Awards are presented during the ceremony for overall male and female finishers in first, second, and third places. Age group winners also receive recognition with custom certificates available for download post-event via the race website’s results page. Medals will be awarded to all 5K runners at the conclusion of their run.
For those unable to attend on race day but still wish to support the cause, a virtual option is provided from August 23rd through October 1st. Participants can complete the distance and submit their times online for inclusion in results and awards consideration.
