The Rogue Marathon returns to Jackson County, Oregon on October 10th, a beloved fall event that draws runners from the region and beyond. The course begins in Ashland, following the scenic Bear Creek Greenway through lush forests and quaint neighborhoods until it reaches Medford at its finish line. This point-to-point marathon not only offers spectacular views but also connects participants with Southern Oregon’s charm. The atmosphere on race morning is both invigorating and relaxed. Participants gather under the cool canopy of autumn trees, surrounded by a community that eagerly supports this annual tradition. The event has been running for several years now, growing in popularity each time it rolls around—last year saw over 300 runners cross the finish line. Proceeds from the race go to support local scholarships and initiatives, making every participant part of something meaningful. The course is firm yet slightly soft underfoot, with a total distance of 42 kilometers for those running in full marathon format; there are also options for half marathoners covering 21 kilometers and ten-kilometer enthusiasts tackling the 10 kilometers. A special one-mile race has been designed to accommodate younger runners eager to participate.
