About the Event

Lancashire’s rugged moors provide the backdrop for this challenging ultra running adventure, starting at Darwen and passing through some of Lancashire's most iconic landmarks. The race route takes runners near three historic towers: Jubilee Tower, Rivington Tower, and Peel Tower, each offering unique perspectives on the landscape.
Participants will navigate along the edge of a military firing range zone, making it essential to stay vigilant and adhere strictly to marked paths. Given that the course is unmarked, runners should come prepared with strong navigation skills or opt for guided reconnaissance runs organized by the event organizers.
The race offers two distance options, catering to both seasoned ultra-runners and those looking for a more manageable challenge in the moors of Lancashire.
Registration opens at 6:00am sharp on the day of the event, followed by the start time of 7:00am from Ranken Arms Pub. A kit check will be conducted before participants set off to ensure they have all necessary equipment for this demanding terrain.
As October temperatures can drop quickly and weather conditions may change rapidly in the moors, runners are advised to bring taped seams jackets and trousers as well as a bivy bag to stay protected from unexpected rain or wind.
Additional perks include the option to purchase XCover insurance, providing participants with peace of mind should unforeseen circumstances prevent them from attending.
This event promises an immersive experience for those who love testing their limits on challenging terrain while enjoying Lancashire's rich history and stunning natural beauty.
