This 10-kilometer route combines smooth paths and roads through the picturesque Urne Valley, offering participants an opportunity to explore the area's natural beauty without any significant elevation challenges. The walk is open to all ages and abilities, with no official rankings but a welcome refreshment station at the finish line.
For those looking for more of a challenge, the Trail 28km event offers scenic running through varied terrain, including some climbs totaling around 400 meters in elevation gain. This race starts at 16:45 and is limited to just 100 runners, ensuring an intimate atmosphere where every participant can focus on their personal performance rather than competition. With two aid stations along the route, participants are advised to bring a headlamp as visibility may be low during parts of the course.
Young athletes also have opportunities to shine with dedicated races for school-aged children and teens. The Course des Écoles d'Athlétisme features 1km routes for younger kids (born in 2018-2020) and a slightly longer distance for those born in 2016-2017, providing an introduction to the sport in a safe environment within André Allenic Complex.
Additionally, there's a Trail 18km race designed specifically for junior runners (born before 2009), which begins at 17:30 and includes a modest elevation gain of about 250 meters over its course. This event is limited to only 150 participants but offers one aid station along the way.
For more experienced young athletes, there's also an exciting trail run for Benjamin (born in 2014-2015) and Minime (born in 2012-2013) categories. This race covers distances of 2km and 3km respectively within the complex itself.
The Trail de la Vallée de l'Urne also includes a shorter but no less thrilling option: the 10 km trail run, which starts at 18:15 for cadet runners (born in or before 2011). This race features just 100 meters of elevation gain and one aid station along its route. With a limit of 250 participants, this event provides an excellent setting to test your skills against the landscape.
The day's activities conclude with a lively atmosphere at the finish line village where runners can enjoy refreshments from the on-site bar and restaurant area.
