Triatlon Kežmarok 2026

Triatlon Kežmarok is designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, offering an engaging experience on the city’s swimming pool grounds. This family-friendly event takes place on August 23, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM.
The race begins with a refreshing swim in the saltwater-filled municipal pool, covering 380 meters. Swimmers will enjoy water temperatures ranging from 25 to 27 degrees Celsius and can use swimming caps if they choose. The event is designed for comfort and safety; participants are not required to wear wetsuits.
After exiting the pool, athletes transition to their bikes at a designated area near Kežmarok’s city center. Cyclists will ride approximately 18 kilometers on asphalt roads with some sections along dedicated cycling paths. Police officers will direct traffic during this segment of the race, ensuring smooth and safe passage through busy areas such as Lidl's roundabout and Spišská Belej.
The final leg is a run that covers 4.2 kilometers, starting from Kežmarok’s city center and heading towards Nižná Brána Bridge before looping back to the finish line near the swimming pool grounds. This scenic route includes sections along the cycling path through Hájovňa, offering runners picturesque views of local landmarks such as Strážky Castle.
Participants will experience a mix of flat terrain and gentle inclines during their run, finishing on a red carpet at the city’s parking lot adjacent to the swimming pool grounds. The course is clearly marked with directional signs throughout its entirety, ensuring that all athletes can follow it easily.
In case of adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain or strong winds, the event may be adjusted to a duathlon format (run-bike-run). Safety regulations are strictly enforced; participants must adhere to road traffic rules and take full responsibility for their safety.
