Vårruset, or "The Spring Rush," brings its celebratory atmosphere to Gävle on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. This popular event transforms Regementsparken near the university into a vibrant hub of movement and fellowship. Whether participating as an individual or part of a collective, the focus remains on enjoying a spring evening outdoors while supporting local sports; 100% of the event's surplus is reinvested into athletics through the organizing club, Gefle IF Friidrott.

The Gävle edition offers both a measured 5-kilometer path and a shorter 2.5-kilometer alternative, ensuring that runners, joggers, and walkers of various fitness levels can participate. A highlight for many is the team-based registration, where groups of five people are invited to share a social picnic on the grass following their finish.
