Burke Mountain is set to host its second race of the 2026 season on a picturesque Vermont day. This weekend features two exciting events: an X-Cross (XC) competition on Saturday and an Enduro-format race on Sunday, creating a thrilling experience for both seasoned racers and newcomers alike. All participants must sign the Burke Waiver to ensure safety; you can do this online by clicking here. Members of Vermont Youth Cycling (VTYC) enjoy free registration through the honor system using the coupon code BURKEXCMEMBER26. The event kicks off early on Saturday with a pre-ride opportunity from 8:30 AM to 9:45 AM, allowing riders to familiarize themselves with the challenging terrain. Chip pick-up and day-of registrations will run concurrently between 9:15 AM and 9:45 AM at the VTYC Tent. At 10:00 AM, Category C riders get their chance to shine, followed by a Junior race start just fifteen minutes later. Cat A and B participants can pre-ride from 10:45 AM onwards but must yield to still-racing Cat C competitors. The junior podium will be celebrated around 11:00 AM, with the Category C/Junior awards. Cat B racing commences at 11:30 AM, leading into the highly anticipated Cat A race starting exactly one hour later. Both categories’ top performers will gather for their respective podia; the Cat A/B podium ceremony is scheduled shortly after the conclusion of the Cat A event around noon. A unique aspect of this race is its commitment to inclusivity and fun. Independent racers are more than welcome, providing an opportunity for those not affiliated with a team to join in on the action. Additionally, families can bring their younger members along as there will be plenty of exciting racing to enjoy from the sidelines. Safety and organization top our priorities. Volunteers play a crucial role in making this event run smoothly; if you're interested in lending your support, sign up here. Burke Mountain offers an exhilarating setting for cyclists who are ready to tackle its demanding courses. Mark your calendars and join us for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of racing!
