Vysokohorský beh cez Klin 2026

The High Mountain Run through Klin, organized by mountaineers from Liptovský Hrádek and tourists and skiers from Pribyiny, continues its tradition as one of Slovakia's most challenging trail races. Since 2009, the event has been significantly supported by the Mountain Rescue Service. Scheduled for September 12, 2026, this will mark the 19th edition of the race, which covers a distance of 22.5 kilometers with an elevation gain of 1350 meters.
The route winds through breathtaking Western Tatras landscapes, starting at Hotel Akademik and ascending to Klin Peak (2176 m). Runners will navigate steep ascents and descents as they pass through the Narrow Valley, Račkova Valley, and Gáborove Saddle. The journey culminates in a dramatic descent into Račkov Sedlo before returning along Račkova Valley back to Hotel Akademik.
This year marks an exciting addition with the introduction of Klin ULTRA, offering runners the chance to tackle four laps through the stunning mountain terrain for a total distance of 43.4 kilometers and over 3210 meters in elevation gain. The first iteration is open to only fifteen participants but organizers are willing to accommodate more if there's sufficient interest.
The day kicks off early with registration between 7:30 am and 8:15 am for both the standard race and ULTRA runners, who will pay a fee of €40. At 8:20 am, there’s an overview of the ULTRA route followed by its start at 8:30 am. Registration for those participating in the regular event begins between 8:40 am and 9:10 am with a course briefing from 9:20 to 9:30 am before hitting the trail.
The race day concludes with refreshments served from 1 pm to 3 pm, followed by an awards ceremony at 4 pm. This event not only tests endurance but also immerses participants in one of Slovakia's most majestic natural settings.
