West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) 2026-27

The West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) offers runners an exhilarating challenge from November to January with six races across the region. This unique league combines competitive individual racing with team spirit, featuring 17 member clubs including Baildon Runners, Dewsbury RR, Pudsey Pacers, and more.
Each race presents a rigorous course over challenging terrain, making it essential for participants to be fit and healthy. The season kicks off on November 15th at Baildon Runners with subsequent races scheduled in Dewsbury, Stainland Lions (featuring fancy dress), Pudsey Pacers, South Leeds Lakers, and concludes on January 31st in Northowram.
The WYWL awards system is extensive, recognizing the top three male and female runners overall as well as winners across various age categories. Team accolades are given for both men's and women's teams along with veteran (aged 35+) and super-veteran (aged 50+) divisions. Competitors must be fully affiliated members of one of the participating clubs, ensuring a level playing field.
With chip timing introduced in the previous season to enhance accuracy, runners can expect precise results reflecting their efforts on these demanding courses. A £20 season pass allows access to all six races and includes a complimentary buff for those who start four out of the six events.
