About the Event

Embark on an unforgettable aquatic adventure with the Windermere One Way Swim, set against the stunning backdrop of Lake Windermere. This 11-mile open water challenge begins at Fell Foot Park, nestled in the serene southern end of the lake, and winds its way northward to Borrans Park.
Swimmers have two options: "Challenge Swimmers" or "Elite Swimmers." The Challenge category allows for a brief respite at a mandatory feeding station along the route. Here, swimmers can refuel with refreshments while their support paddler takes a momentary break before continuing on towards the finish line by 12:00 PM.
For those seeking an unbroken journey through the water, the Elite category invites athletes to push themselves without stopping at the mandatory feeding station. Swimmers in this group are expected to complete the course within approximately five hours but have up to ten hours to reach the end.
Participants should bring proven open-water swimming experience and be prepared for a rigorous test of endurance. The event also offers XCover, providing swimmers with insurance against unforeseen circumstances that might prevent them from taking part.
