The Windermere Triathlon Weekend returns to Cockshott Point with a variety of events suitable for all levels, from novices to seasoned athletes. Cockshott Point offers breathtaking views over the lake, making it an ideal setting for both participants and spectators. With easy access to amenities and parking nearby, this picturesque location is perfect for those looking to enjoy a weekend filled with exhilarating races against one of Britain's most stunning backdrops. The event kicks off on Saturday, July 10th, featuring novice triathlons alongside sprint duathlon, aquabike, and aquathlon events. On Sunday, the standard distance races take center stage as athletes circle around Lake Windermere for a challenging yet rewarding experience. Swimming in the clear waters of Lake Windermere sets the tone for each event, followed by cycling routes that wind through Ambleside or along the lake's edge depending on your race category. The run portion concludes with scenic paths and trails, offering participants and spectators alike an immersive view of the picturesque landscape. Whether you're a first-time triathlete eager to test the waters or a seasoned competitor looking for another challenge in one of Britain’s most breathtaking locations, this event promises excitement at every turn. With distances ranging from novice-friendly 350m swims to full standard races with 1,500m swims and 48km bike rides, there's an option tailored just right for you. Secure transition areas are provided where athletes can store personal items during the race. Race numbers must be displayed at all times within these designated zones until your equipment is collected post-race. Upon crossing the finish line on either day, participants will receive a bespoke event medal and Wild Deer merchandise as well as refreshments to help you refuel after an intense competition. For those who haven't yet joined British Triathlon, single-use race passes are available for insurance coverage during this permitted BRITISH TRIATHLON Event.
