Winter Solstice Strider 2026

The Winter Solstice Strider, organized by the team behind the renowned Summer Solstice Saunter at Bolton Abbey and sponsored by Warters and Co. Chartered Accountants, invites runners to experience a unique challenge under the cover of darkness on the St. Ives Estate in Bingley.
Participants can choose between one or two circuits for an exhilarating 5k or 10k run through the estate's enchanting landscape. Walkers are also welcome to join and complete a single circuit at their own pace, all while enjoying chip-timed results that ensure accuracy and fairness.
Every finisher will be awarded a distinctive bespoke Solstice Strider medal, celebrating your achievement in this special winter event. The venue is supported by STRI and the Bingley St. Ives Golf Club, enhancing the overall experience with top-notch facilities and support services.
For young runners aged 6 to 17 who are accompanied by an adult, there's a specially discounted entry price for both running and walking options in the event’s shorter distance category.
Those unable to attend in person can still participate virtually. Runners have the option of completing their chosen distance at any location on the shortest day of the year and will receive their medal before the official race date as recognition for their efforts.
