York 5K (SEP '26)

Even Splits York 5K, held monthly from February through November at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit, offers runners an ideal setting to chase their personal bests. The circuit's flat and fast terrain makes it perfect for timing yourself accurately with each race.
Participants receive chip-timed results that appear on Power of 10 shortly after crossing the finish line, allowing you to track your performance meticulously. Your kilometre splits are published online the day following the event, giving runners a detailed breakdown of their progress month by month.
The races not only cater to individual goals but also provide an opportunity for clubs and groups to compete against each other in friendly rivalry. With entry fees starting at £10/£12 per race or discounted bulk rates if you pre-purchase multiple entries, it's easy to plan ahead and save on costs while enjoying the convenience of participating regularly.
First-time entrants are assigned a unique race number embedded with an electronic timing chip, which can be used across both York and Leeds 5K events. This number is collected during registration at your first race day. For those returning with previously issued RED 5K numbers (from years 2020 to 2025), you're welcome to reuse them in the current year by including it on your entry form.
All participants are guaranteed a free replacement of their race number within a 12-month period, while any additional replacements incur a £4 charge. Upon finishing each race, runners can enjoy a chocolate bar as part of the celebratory finish line treats.
