The Great Barrow Challenge invites runners to experience 10 days of diverse routes across Suffolk, offering an array of distances from 5 kilometers to ultra marathons. Each day presents unique terrain and challenges, with Day Six focusing on the Golding Hills route. Located at Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds, this event offers a variety of landscapes that cater to all levels of runners. The venue is equipped with ample parking included in your entry fee, ensuring easy access for participants. Race HQ serves as both the start and finish line, complete with water stations along the way. Each day features its own distinctive course: - Day 1: Denham Flats offers a scenic out-and-back route. - Days 2 to 5 cover Windmill, Kirtling, Gallops, and Dalham Kiln respectively, each presenting different challenges from flat terrain to rolling hills. - On the Golding Hills day (Day Six), runners will encounter undulating trails that test endurance and stamina. - For those looking for shorter distances, Days Seven through Ten feature half routes at Chevington Chase, Mill Wind, Clover, and Hargrave. Participants can look forward to receiving a bespoke medal upon completion of each race. The event promotes sustainability by encouraging runners to bring their own bottles or cups for hydration stations throughout the course.
