The Great Barrow Challenge invites runners to immerse themselves in 10 days of diverse terrain and scenic routes across Suffolk. Hosted by Zig Zag Running at the Suffolk Running Centre on Church Road, Bury St Edmunds (IP29 5AX), this event offers a unique opportunity for individuals to set their own pace and distance. On Day Nine specifically, participants will tackle the Clover Half Route, offering runners an engaging half marathon experience. Throughout the series, various routes cater to different preferences and distances: from short bursts of energy on Denham Flats' 10km out-and-back course to more challenging full route options like Kirtling and Gallops. Each day presents a new adventure with fresh landscapes waiting to be explored. Whether you're looking for rolling hills or flat stretches, there's something tailored just for you. The event is designed so that those opting for shorter distances can participate in Golding Hills on most days, ensuring flexibility and variety. Parking at the venue is included in your entry fee, making it convenient for runners to arrive prepared. Race HQ serves as a central hub with water stations strategically placed along routes to keep participants hydrated throughout their run. To celebrate each day's achievements, bespoke medals are awarded upon completion of every race, marking milestones on this memorable journey through Suffolk’s picturesque countryside. The event encourages sustainability by going cupless; runners are kindly asked to bring reusable bottles or cups for refills at aid stations. Join us as we explore the beauty and diversity of Suffolk in a series that caters to all levels of runner, from casual joggers to seasoned marathon enthusiasts.
