2026 Islendingadagurinn-Icelandic Festival of Manitoba Running Races

The 8th Annual Islendingadagurinn-Icelandic Festival of Manitoba Running Races returns to Gimli, Manitoba on August 2nd, 2026. This event is a beloved tradition in the community, offering runners of all levels the chance to participate in three distances: a 5K race, a 1 Mile fun run, and an iconic 10 Mile road race. The festival's roots stretch back eight years, making it one of Manitoba’s premier summer running events.
The picturesque setting of Gimli Pavillion Park, located on the eastern side at the intersection of Amisk and Fifth Avenue, serves as both the starting point and finish line for this year's races. The 35th Annual Jan's Memorial 1 Mile Fun Run is set to start at Gimli Pavillion Park just before the more significant races. This event is designed for all ages and abilities, making it accessible for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. Registration can be done on race day from 7:55 AM to 8:25 AM.
