This event has been running for several years now, supporting Noelle Paquette's legacy and raising funds for local students’ scholarships. This year marks the continuation of its tradition as a community-focused celebration where everyone is welcome—whether you're running or volunteering. Last year saw over 100 participants taking part in the chip-timed races. The course offers scenic views through Canatara Park, with paths that are firm and slightly soft underfoot. The race starts at the Sarnia Sports Complex and finishes near Waterfront Park, where participants will see signs of local community support along the way. There is one aid station located mid-course to ensure runners stay hydrated. On race night, expect a mix of conditions typical for late September in Sarnia: temperatures can drop into the 10°C range, with moderate UV index and slightly windy conditions making for an invigorating run through the park’s pathways. Precipitation is rare but not impossible during this time, so participants should be prepared for occasional drizzle. The race offers a variety of distances to choose from: The 10K Run - Chip-Timed | 5KM Run | Chip-Timed and 5KM Walk are all chip-timed events with different fees. There’s also the Bare Bones 5k, which does not include a medal or swag bag but is open for those who just want to participate. Early registration fees are CA$72.38 for the 10K and 5K chip-timed runs, while early registration is not required but encouraged to secure your spot at a reduced fee of CA$66.98 for the non-timed walk. For bib pickup, head to Sarnia Sports Complex on Friday night from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM or Saturday morning before the race starts at 6:45 AM. Bring a photo ID and proof of age for the kids’ run. The event is family-friendly with plenty of volunteer support available, making it an excellent opportunity to bring your whole community out on this special night.
