Run for the Frontline

About the Event

Run for the Frontline 2026 in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, on October 4th, is a timed 5KM and 10KM run to honor and support First Responders and Frontline Workers in our community. The event will take place at Canatara Park, starting and ending at the Terry Fox loop with scenic routes through the park.
The atmosphere on race morning promises to be vibrant; runners can expect a serene environment as they prepare for their journey around this beautiful park. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy the natural surroundings before setting off from the designated start line. The course is marked by its diverse terrain, offering both gentle paths and slight inclines that provide an engaging experience throughout.
Historically, Run for the Frontline has run annually since 2024, attracting a growing number of participants each year who come together to support local charities. In 2025, proceeds went to Boots on the Ground (Ontario), continuing the tradition of giving back and acknowledging those who dedicate their lives to helping others.
The course venue offers a mix of paved paths with some slight unpaved sections for variety. The route begins at Canatara Park's Terry Fox loop and winds through the scenic areas within, providing runners with both challenges and beautiful views along the way. There will be no aid stations on this run as it is primarily focused on timed performances.
The start time for the 10KM race is set for 10:00 AM sharp; any age or ability can participate in either distance. The weather forecast predicts a temperature range between 8.9°C and 16.7°C with an average of 12.8°C, which will feel comfortable despite a humidity level of 74.1%. A steady wind at around 14.5 km/h might make for slightly cooler conditions as runners progress.
