For the sixth consecutive year, Eden Runners are thrilled to welcome runners to the picturesque Acorn Bank 10k. This scenic race takes place within the stunning grounds of Acorn Bank National Trust Property and features an undulating route that caters to all levels of fitness. The course is precisely measured at a distance of 10 kilometers by Run Events, ensuring accuracy for competitive racers while offering breathtaking views along country lanes and tarmac paths. Participants will have ample opportunities to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding Acorn Bank as they navigate through this challenging yet rewarding terrain. Race day begins early with registration opening at 8:30 AM in the grounds of Acorn Bank, where parking is coordinated by dedicated marshals to ensure a smooth start for all runners. A suggested donation of £5 per car covers both race entry and access to the estate’s gardens and house on that day – proceeds from which will be donated directly back into conservation efforts at Acorn Bank. Before heading out onto the course, participants can collect their bib numbers and attend a safety briefing scheduled for 9:45 AM. The race itself kicks off promptly at 10:00 AM with finishers greeted by a well-deserved treat – a slice of Traybakes flapjack (with vegan options available). In addition to the overall male and female winners receiving prizes, there are special awards given out in various age categories including U23, V40, V50, V60, and V70. Team competition is also encouraged with an award presented to the first club or team of three across all divisions. Entrants must be at least 15 years old on race day, adhering strictly to UK Athletics regulations regarding headphone use which prohibit in-ear or over-ear devices during the event due safety concerns. Spectators under this age limit should always remain with an adult for their protection and comfort throughout the proceedings. Dogs are not permitted alongside runners but friends and family can cheer from designated spectator areas as they watch participants tackle each twist of the challenging 10k route. Race entry is limited to just 200 spots, so early registration is recommended to secure a place in this beloved annual event. With its blend of natural beauty, competitive spirit, and strong community support, the Acorn Bank 10k promises an unforgettable running experience for all who participate.
