Allegheny Cycling Association Wednesday Night Criterium Week 13: Picnic

About the Event

Experience the vibrant atmosphere and stunning scenery at the Allegheny Cycling Association (ACA) race, held annually in Pittsburgh. This event offers not only thrilling competition but also a chance to support local racing through membership and participation.
To join the fun, consider becoming an ACA member before you register for the race. For as little as $5 per race, members can enjoy discounts while supporting local cycling initiatives. To become a member, visit https://www.bikereg.com/allegheny-cycling-association-membership.
For young racers under 18 years old, there's good news: USAC licenses are free for juniors! If you're new to the sport and looking to get started, opt for an annual license instead of a one-day pass. More information can be found at https://usacycling.org/memberships-new.
New to ACA races? Our "Getting Started with ACA Races" guide provides all the details you need: https://www.acaracing.com/getstarted.html. For those eager to join, we offer comprehensive instructions in our "Rider Instructions" document available here: https://www.acaracing.com/Rider%20Instructions.pdf.
Women racers have a unique opportunity to compete alongside men's fields, one category down from their own. If you're a woman racing as a Category 3 and want to join the men’s Category 4 or 5 races, ensure your registration bypasses any automatic notifications of ineligibility—your participation is encouraged.
Category 5 (Novice) racers are required to have only one-day licenses, while all other competitors must possess an active USA Cycling license. Minors participating in these events need a parent's/guardian’s signature on the USAC One Day License Form for Minors: https://www.usacycling.org/forms/minor-license-form.pdf.
Join us at this exciting race and be part of a community that celebrates cycling, challenges, and camaraderie. See you on race day!

About Pittsburgh

Learn more about the host city, Pittsburgh.

Scenic view of

The pleasure of Pittsburgh remains a well-kept secret. Though not built up by reputation, the city's unique combination of bridges, steep hills, and broad rivers make it one of the most naturally scenic cities in the country. Cheap food and beer abound in this true sports town and the locals are amazingly friendly. A city of about 303,000 (2021) in Allegheny County, at the center of a metro area of about 2.4 million in southwestern Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh is situated at the confluence of three rivers: the Monongahela and Allegheny Rivers, which meet to form the Ohio River. The city's unique terrain has resulted in an unusual city design and a hodge-podge of unique neighborhood "pockets" with diverse ethnic and architectural heritage. Pittsburgh has a rich history and, for its size, an unusual array of cultural treasures, largely thanks to the wealth that was generated when Pittsburgh was a hub of industry.
