Blacksheep 3 and 6 Hour Challenge

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the North Yorkshire Dales, Masham hosts an exhilarating running challenge that offers both six and three-hour options. Participants can run as many laps around this scenic course as they desire within their chosen timeframe before ringing the bell to collect a medal, a refreshing beverage from Black Sheep Brewery (or its alcohol-free counterpart), and a hearty sausage sandwich with vegetarian alternatives.
The terrain features a mix of trails and roads, complete with stiles that add an element of adventure. The route is flat but includes one steady climb, making it both challenging and rewarding for runners of all levels. Feed stations are strategically placed every three miles to keep you fueled throughout your run, while the course itself is marshalled and clearly marked.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive a bespoke medal and enjoy various treats at the race venue. Toilets are conveniently located in Masham's town market square for runners needing a break from their activity.
Getting there couldn’t be easier; simply head to the area near Masham Sports Club. Registration opens at 8:00 AM, allowing ample time to park (£5 parking fee applies), register, and use the facilities before the race starts promptly at 9:00 AM.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association under UKA rules, ensuring a safe and well-organized experience for all participants. To further enhance your run, downloadable GPX files are available to help you navigate the mostly off-road course that may not have marshals at every corner or junction.
Please note that while headphones can be used, large over-the-ear models will not be permitted due to safety concerns. Instead, bone-conducting earphones or "one in one out" in-ear pieces are recommended if you wish to listen to music during the race.
