Denby Dash 2026

Celebrate a Bank Holiday Monday with a unique twist at this beloved village race, where participants can opt for fancy dress if they wish. The 9km course winds through picturesque footpaths that traverse fields and woodlands, offering runners an immersive journey through the historic Quaker Village of High Flatts and conservation areas. With a total ascent of 700 feet, the undulating terrain provides both challenge and scenic beauty.
The route is clearly marked with marshals stationed along the way to ensure safety for all levels of runners—whether you're socializing or pushing your limits. The race welcomes participants aged 16 years and older, ensuring a vibrant mix of ages on this special day.
Upon crossing the finish line, runners are greeted with homemade flapjack—a delightful treat that adds to the festive atmosphere. Prizes will be awarded across various age categories as well as for the best fancy dress costumes. Additionally, trophies await the first local male and female competitors to cross the finish line.
Before the main event, at 10:30 am, there are separate junior races designed for children of all ages, fostering a sense of community among younger participants. The celebration continues back at The George Inn with live music and refreshment stalls providing entertainment and sustenance throughout the day.
Entries must be submitted by 8 pm on Saturday, August 29th; no entries will be accepted on race day itself.
