Halloween Swim - Wyresdale Park (31/10)

Dive into the darkness for an unforgettable evening swim at Wyresdale Park on October 31, 2026. Arriving after sunset, participants will receive glow sticks and numbered bands upon check-in at the jetty. A head torch is mandatory due to limited lighting along the path leading to the water's edge.
Swimmers can opt for wetsuits if desired but must bring their own or pre-order one for an additional £10. Tow floats are essential, providing both buoyancy and visibility in the dark waters. Safety kayakers will patrol the area, ensuring a secure environment as swimmers navigate approximately 250-meter circuits.
The lake is lined with blue buoys marking shallow areas near shore; participants should avoid swimming between these markers to stay safe. Additional safety measures include lying on your back and raising an arm for assistance if needed.
Facilities are minimal, so arrive in swimwear or change quickly at nearby vehicles. Parking options are available, including a main lot and overflow space accessible via the A6 route from Preston or Lancaster.
