Promenade 3K Winter Series 2026/2027
The Metro Aberdeen Running Club is excited to present its annual Promenade 3K Winter Series, set against the backdrop of The Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen. This series, promoted under SAL rules and measured by Jones Counter for accuracy, invites runners from all levels to experience a unique winter running tradition.
Scheduled on the first Friday of each month from October through March, participants will have six opportunities to take part: October 2nd, November 6th, December 4th 2026, January 8th 2027, February 5th, and March 5th. Each race begins at precisely 1:00pm, providing a consistent start time for all competitors.
The series takes place along the scenic promenade near the Beach Leisure Centre, offering runners stunning views of Aberdeen’s coastline as they navigate through this historic seaside setting. The course is designed to be welcoming and accessible, with clear markers guiding participants throughout their run.
Entry into each race costs £3, payable in advance only; on-site registration will not be available for any event during the series. Runners are required to collect their numbers at the designated spot 150 meters north of the Beach Leisure Centre before starting time. For those participating across multiple races, it is essential to keep the same number throughout.
Participants must report to the registration desk each race day to confirm their attendance and ensure they are eligible for series awards. Accumulated times from three out of six races will count towards overall standings in various categories. Prizes await runners who excel over the course of the season.
A special note goes out to junior athletes under 16 years old, as there is a separate Promenade Junior Dash Series available at . This dedicated series offers young runners an opportunity to compete in their own age-appropriate events.
