Welcome to the Half Marathon & 10k Road Races on the Isle of Mull, taking place on Saturday, August 1st, 2026. This beloved annual event has been enriching the island's running scene for an impressive 34 years and continues to draw runners from across Scotland and beyond. Registration takes place at Craignure Hall, located near the ferry terminal, where participants can pick up their race numbers, timing tags, and T-shirts between 11:00 AM and 12:45 PM. The half marathon begins promptly at 1:30 PM from the Isle of Mull Hotel in Craignure, while the 10k starts shortly after, at 1:45 PM, from Fishnish Road end. Both races wind through scenic coastal paths before reaching their finish line at Salen Hotel in picturesque Salen. The event is designed to showcase not only the beauty of the Isle of Mull but also its welcoming community spirit. Spectators are invited to catch a courtesy bus departing from Craignure Hall, which will take them directly to the finish area. Entry fees for Scottish Athletics members and non-members are £24 and £26 respectively, with no entries accepted on race day itself. The event has a strict cap of 250 total participants across both races. Early registration is highly recommended due to limited availability. Race briefings will be sent out via email ahead of the event and posted online at https://www.mullrunners.com/ and https://www.facebook.com/Mull-Runners-331265984335 for additional details closer to race day. Participants are encouraged to arrive changed, as changing facilities will be available at Craignure Hall. Awards await all finishers in the form of medals and T-shirts, with special prizes distributed among open and local categories. While there won't be any children's races this year, runners under 15 for the half marathon or 17 for the full distance are not permitted to participate according to UK Athletics guidelines. For those traveling by ferry, schedules can be found at https://www.calmac.co.uk/calmac-winter-timetables. Bus services run from Craignure Hall via numbers 495 and 496, providing easy access for both runners and spectators alike. Car parking is available at the hall as well as near the ferry terminal. The deadline to secure your spot in this year's races is Monday, July 27th, 2026, or earlier if all slots are filled. Additionally, participants looking to join the Hebridean Tri-Island Challenge can register their interest on https://collhalfmarathon.org.uk/hebridean-tri-island-challenge. We hope you'll join us for a day of running and celebration in one of Scotland's most enchanting locations.
