Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Carron Valley Forestry for an invigorating 7-mile trail race on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. This scenic route begins at 9am and is designed to cater to runners of all skill levels. The course winds through undulating forest tracks within Stirlingshire’s Carron Valley, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience. Starting near the B818 Denny to Fintry road, participants will encounter Meikle Bin before descending towards the picturesque carron reservoir. The terrain features mainly hard-packed Land Rover tracks with some loose stones on the initial ascent. Registration opens at 7:30am and closes 15 minutes prior to the race start. It takes place near the main car park area, which is accessible via Duncarron Fort (free parking) or a nearby paid option. Public toilets are available close by, along with portable facilities next to the registration tent. Race day promises not only physical challenges but also community engagement as funds raised will be shared between Alzheimer Scotland and Ochils Mountain Rescue Team. Spectacular photography throughout the course captures every moment of your journey, which you agree to have posted on race social media following the event. Entry fees are £18 for general participants or £15 for members of SAL (Scottish Athletics League). Withdrawals before the race date will receive a full refund; however, once entries reach capacity, no refunds can be issued due to all proceeds being donated to charity. The race is limited to 200 runners. A memorable highlight awaits at the finish line with a popular cake stall where donations directly support Alzheimer Scotland and Ochils Mountain Rescue Team.
