About the Event
'Skills on The Dodds' is an exceptional opportunity for runners and navigators looking to explore the rugged beauty of Cumbria's fells while honing their skills. Expert tutors will guide you through various techniques and offer valuable insights into navigating challenging terrains like The Dodds area. Participants can expect to tackle Clough Head's steep climb followed by a more gradual ascent of Great Dodd, before descending Sticks Pass—a key route year-round—where refreshments await at The Lodge-in-the-Vale. Minibus transport back to Threlkeld or Keswick ensures a comfortable return journey after the day’s activities. NAV4 has been hosting these recce sessions for years and provides crucial mountain safety support during LiAD, making them well-versed in what works best on this challenging terrain. The tutors will share their extensive knowledge about event preparation, gear choices, nutrition strategies, navigation tips, and training methods to help participants feel confident and prepared.
