NFPD's Running With The Rapids

About the Event

On Sunday, August 16, 2026, runners and walkers are invited to participate in the second annual Running With The Rapids race series in downtown Niagara Falls, New York. This year's event honors Tina Zell with proceeds benefiting the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara.
The races will take place along the scenic Niagara Falls State Park Pedestrian Path near the Great Lakes 360 Visitor’s Center. Both the 5K and 10K runs begin at 9am, offering runners an out-and-back course that showcases breathtaking views of the falls and surrounding natural beauty. A fun walk for all ages starts at the same time.
Registration and packet pickup will be available on race day from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at The Archives Pub located just a two-minute stroll away from the start/finish line. Early registrants who sign up by August 7th are guaranteed an event t-shirt in their preferred size, with limited extras distributed based on availability.
Entry fees for early registration through July 31st include:
- $25 (Fun Walk)
- $30 (5K Run)
- $35 (10K Run)
Virtual race options will be available until August 7th at a cost of $40, which includes the shipping of your t-shirt within continental USA. Virtual participants can complete their chosen distance anytime during the month of August.
The post-race celebration and awards ceremony will take place at The Archives Pub following the event. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided along with an awards presentation for top finishers in both races as well as age group winners, who receive special gifts.
Parking is conveniently located within a short walking distance from the start/finish line near downtown Niagara Falls. Should inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances arise, race organizers reserve the right to reschedule the event or convert it into a virtual 5K run with no refunds issued.
