Run The Runway 5K

On Saturday, August 15, 2026, Niagara Falls International Airport will transform into an exhilarating race course for the Run the Runway 5K. This unique event offers runners the rare opportunity to run on a fully operational airport runway as the sun sets over the iconic Niagara Falls.
Sponsored by Greenlight Networks, participants can expect a memorable evening under the stars with the runway illuminated and lined with cheering spectators. The first 250 registrants will receive custom finisher medals designed exclusively for this event, adding an extra layer of prestige to your achievement.
Registration opens early at 6:00 PM inside the airport terminal, where participants can also pick up their race packets until the start time at 7:00 PM. All runners must pass through TSA security and present valid identification before heading out onto the runway course. Early packet pickup will be available on Thursday or Friday night for those who prefer to handle logistics ahead of the event.
The registration fee is $35, with a slight increase to $40 on race day. Those who register by August 5th at 9:00 AM are guaranteed an official event t-shirt in their requested size; any remaining shirts will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis after that date.
Following the race, Brickyard Pub & BBQ will host a celebration with complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over. Light refreshments from the pub will also be provided to fuel your post-race recovery.
Custom trophies will be awarded to the top male and female overall finishers in the 5K event. Age group awards (for ages 14 and under, as well as each subsequent five-year interval) will feature decals that can be affixed to the back of custom finisher medals for added recognition.
