Podfather Stirling 10K with Fun Runs - A Spectacular Scottish Event
Central Athletics Club invites you to join us for the 25th edition of the Podfather Stirling 10k, an exhilarating race set against the backdrop of Scotland's historic landmarks. This event includes two fun runs: a 2k run for children aged 5-9 and a 3.5k run for those between 10-14 years old.
### Start Times
Fun Runs (2K & 3.5K): 9:20 AM
Main Race: 10:15 AM
The race takes place on our traditional, flat and fast course that winds through the scenic landscapes of Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, and Ochil Hills. The route offers breathtaking views at every turn, making it a favorite among runners from across Scotland.
### Course Highlights
- Pacers: Easily identifiable by their flags marking target times for 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes.
- Scenic Pipers: A piper will play at the most picturesque part of the course as you approach Wallace Monument.
- Cheerleaders: Support teams stationed along the route to cheer you on at key points: 1.5k and 8.5k.
- Music Alongside the Course: Enjoy upbeat tunes throughout your run.
### Race Day Features
Runners will also benefit from:
- Free pre-race and post-race massages in the start/finish area.
- A clock marking the halfway point for a split time at the 5K mark.
- An instructor-led warm-up session before the race starts.
- Bouncy castles and face painting to keep kids entertained.
### Prizes
This year, we are offering over £2000 in prizes:
- Top Male & Female Finishers: First place receives £250, second gets £150, third wins £100, fourth takes home £50, and fifth earns £25.
- Course Record Bonus: A special prize of £250 for those who break the existing records (men: 28:53, women: 33:09).
- Age Group Prizes: Awards available for U20, V40, V50, V60, and V70 categories.
- First Male & Female Teams: Special recognition for the first team to cross the finish line.
### Fun Runs
The fun runs are designed to be enjoyable while still challenging young participants:
2K Run:
Ages 5-9 years old. This out-and-back route follows part of the main race course and returns via a designated turnaround point.

3.5K Run:
For ages 10-14, this run starts similarly but continues straight at a mini roundabout along Forthside Way before returning to join back on with the remaining portion of the 1k mark.

### Additional Information
- Charity Donation: A portion of each entry fee will be donated to the Beatson Cancer Charity.
- Race Numbers: For the main race, numbers are mailed in advance; fun run participants can collect theirs on-site at the information tent.
- Parking & Logistics: Parking is available at Forthbank Stadium and St Modan's High School. Traffic marshals guide runners to alternative parking locations if needed.
