The 2026 PureKids Triathlon Series Powered by Subway - Adventure Bay Triathlon invites young athletes aged 3 to 15 to experience an exhilarating day of fun and fitness at the WFCU Centre, Windsor. This vibrant event offers a safe, closed course free from vehicle traffic, ensuring participants can focus on their performance. Race Day is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026, with registration opening online through Raceroster.com by Thursday, July 9, at 7:00 PM. Participants must register in advance to secure their spot; same-day registrations will not be accepted. The event also encourages early packet pickup on Saturday, July 11, from 11 AM to 2 PM or on race day between 6:30 and 8:00 AM at the WFCU Centre. The triathlon comprises three exciting stages: swim, bike, and run. Athletes will begin with a swim in the 6-lane, 25-meter WFCU Pool. For young participants aged 3 to 5 years, water wings or life jackets are provided for added safety. Older athletes can choose their preferred stroke as they complete their laps. Following the pool, racers transition into their bikes, pedaling on a dedicated route around the WFCU Centre’s grounds. The bike portion is designed with safety in mind and offers scenic views of the surrounding area. Upon completing the cycling segment, participants will make their way to the final run through winding trails that showcase the natural beauty of Windsor. Upon crossing the finish line, all children receive a Finisher Medal, T-Shirt, Bathing Cap, and more exclusive prizes including free passes to Adventure Bay Family Waterpark and Zap Zone Family Fun Centre. Additionally, registered athletes can look forward to a McDonald’s Ice Cream cone coupon as part of their race package. The event is not only about fun but also raises funds for Special Olympics Ontario, dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport. Since 1976, this organization has grown into the world's largest movement promoting respect and inclusion in communities worldwide. Race day begins early on Sunday morning at 8:30 AM at The WFCU Centre. Athletes must be ready by 8:00 AM to ensure a smooth start of the event. A mandatory equipment check ensures all participants are prepared with their bike, helmet, running shoes, and swimsuit. Spectators can enjoy watching from designated areas near the pool deck. Weather conditions may impact race day operations; however, every effort will be made to continue the event safely in rain or shine. In case of severe weather, such as lightning, athletes should seek shelter immediately, with no resumption until 30 minutes post-lightning occurrence. Your support and participation contribute significantly to this community-driven initiative. For any questions regarding race details or registration, contact us at purekidstriwindsor@gmail.com. About Windsor
Learn more about the host city, Windsor.
Windsor is a mid-sized Canadian city on the southwest tip of Ontario. It's an extremely multicultural city with over 20% of its population having been born outside of Canada. The city's rich cultural background is evident in its Middle Eastern, Italian, and Asian neighbourhoods. Just across the Detroit River from Detroit and the American border, it's one of the very few places where you have to go south to enter Canada. Its main waterfront park stretches about 5 km (3.1 mi), from the 1929 Ambassador suspension bridge past the contemporary Windsor Sculpture Park. It ends near the 1894 Italianate Canadian Club Heritage Centre, which recalls when Windsor was a source for liquor smuggled to the Prohibition-era states.
