Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Windsor's inaugural First Responder Celebration Run on July 26, 2026. This community event welcomes runners and walkers from all walks of life—no first responder experience required! The race starts at the majestic Windsor Firefighters Monument situated in the heart of Windsor Civic Terrace. Navigate through the picturesque Riverfront Trail that winds its way westward into Dieppe Park. Admire stunning views as you pass iconic landmarks like the Legacy Beacon and Streetcar No. 351, before exploring the captivating Windsor Sculpture Park. The journey home will see participants crossing the finish line once again at the Firefighters Monument. The course is lined with special tributes to local first responders—vivid displays of police, fire services, Essex-Windsor EMS, and CBSA vehicles marking their presence on both sides of your route. This not only honors our brave heroes but also offers a unique experience for all participants. Registration closes online at 6 PM on July 23, ensuring the first 450 registrants receive a coveted Finishers Medal. Those who sign up later will still enjoy a t-shirt and post-race refreshments from Tim Hortons and Boston Pizza. Additionally, every adult participant will be treated to a complimentary massage courtesy of students at the Canadian College of Health, Science & Technology. The event features distances for all ages: 5K Run or Walk, CKLW AM800m Kid's Run, and Kid's Dash. Running club enthusiasts can compete for cash prizes with the Social Running Club offering $100 to the most participants and $50 to second place. Post-race festivities include a celebration of local support organizations such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Ontario, and Windsor Firefighters Benefit Fund. Participants are reminded that while there will be no refunds, bib transfers remain available until July 25, 2026. Join us on this memorable day to celebrate community spirit and honor those who serve tirelessly in our local first responder teams!

About Windsor
Learn more about the host city, Windsor.
Windsor is a mid-sized Canadian city on the southwest tip of Ontario. It's an extremely multicultural city with over 20% of its population having been born outside of Canada. The city's rich cultural background is evident in its Middle Eastern, Italian, and Asian neighbourhoods. Just across the Detroit River from Detroit and the American border, it's one of the very few places where you have to go south to enter Canada. Its main waterfront park stretches about 5 km (3.1 mi), from the 1929 Ambassador suspension bridge past the contemporary Windsor Sculpture Park. It ends near the 1894 Italianate Canadian Club Heritage Centre, which recalls when Windsor was a source for liquor smuggled to the Prohibition-era states.
